Watching the timelapse video of SpaceX Crew Dragon from the International Space Station is absolutely captivating

ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen has shared a captivating timelapse video showcasing the journey from space to Earth. The video features the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft smoothly undocking from the International Space Station (ISS) and landing near the coast of Florida.

Mogensen, together with his crewmates NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbel, JAXA astronaut Satoshi Furukawa and Roscosmos astronaut Konstantin Borisov, have been on an almost six-month long research trip on the ISS. Now, as their time in space draws to a close, the crew prepares for their own return to Earth.

Scheduled for departure on March 8, 2024, the return of the crew is dependent on the successful launch of Crew 8 on March 1 and favorable weather conditions at the landing site. The Crew Dragon spacecraft “Endurance” is responsible for transporting the astronauts back home, marking their significant time on the ISS.

Throughout his tenure, Mogensen has assumed the role of Commander of Expedition 70, leading a diverse and international team through groundbreaking scientific research and collaboration. After reflecting on the experience, Mogensen expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead such a remarkable crew.

SpaceX Crew Dragon’s timelapse video not only showcases the technological marvels that make such missions possible, but also offers a glimpse of Earth’s breathtaking beauty and fragility as seen from space.
